Finch Hatton's Camp
Situated in Tsavo West National Park, this luxurious, award winning camp is named after the English Aristocrat Denys Finch Hatton. Made famous by Robert Redford in the film "Out of Africa", Finch Hatton traveled in style. Mozart on the gramophone, crystal under the African stars, five course dinners, and attentive staff at your call - all in the middle of the bush.
Set in a 35 acre area in south east Tsavo West, around a series of spring fed natural hippo pools (complete with resident hippos!), Finch Hattons is an oasis in the arid Tsavo landscape, with Kilimanjaro as its backdrop.
Luxuriously appointed tents at Finch Hattons
Just imagine: hot water on demand, en suite deluxe bathrooms, wide verandas, Afghan rugs, mini-bars in the rooms, fresh cut roses and of course, plenty of electricity to charge your batteries and shave - all this in your tent, miles away from the nearest main road! What more could you ask for after a long game drive?
More than just tents, the 35 tastefully appointed tents at Finch Hattons are shaded by towering Acacia trees and are spread out around the 3 natural hippo pools on raised platforms facing the water. Each has spacious, shaded verandas with comfortable day beds and chairs. The tents are extra large, with wooden floors, Afghan rugs, and large airy windows!
Each tent has a mini bar, en suite bathrooms with large oval mirrors and endless supplies of hot water supplied by solar heaters. Of course, electricity is provided for lighting, shaving and charging batteries, and hair dryers are available on request!
Fresh cut roses, brass lamps and beautiful bedspreads complete the decor in the well appointed "tents".

In the club house, tea and meals are served on fine china and drinks in cut crystal. The fine linen tablecloths and chandeliers complete the atmosphere. The chandelier must be the one of the largest on the equator!
A luxurious camp. The professional staff, including the managing director or his assistant, are always pleased to provide you with personal, impeccable service. The food is prepared in a kitchen any respectable hotelier would be proud of, to exacting European standards - and to excellent taste. There is little to fault - Finch Hatton himself would tilt his hat at the effort and attention to detail that has gone into making this a memorable camp.
Hippo and crocodile are resident at the camp, while giraffe, lion, leopard, elephant and other plains game have all been known to visit!
This award winning camp has won accolades for its luxury, its service and its food from critics and guests alike. The camp is easily accessible from Nairobi via a thrice weekly Air Kenya charter flight.
